The Odessa Historisches Museum, founded in April 1971 by John E. Gahringer, Jr. M.D., is situated in the heart of the Big Bend Wheat Country. The museum tells the story of the settlement and development of the towns and surrounding countryside by hardy pioneers, who were primarily of German-Russian ancestory.
The Museum is open each Sunday afternoon from Memorial Day Weekend till September. During Deutschesfest weekend, the museum is open each day from noon to 6:00 p.m. The museum is also open any time by appointment; just call (509) 982-2859 or (509) 982-2530, or e-mail via the 'Contact Us' page.
